Find More Posts by old Rusty C Brakes will come on the diffs already, and maybe upgrade the master cylinder if there is a differance, and likely going to use bigger driveshafts too. I assume that means noone knows? It took me awhile, but I finally was able to find out the info myself. So for those who may be interested in knowing Differance is, they come in 2 leaf, 3 leaf or 4 leaf set up.

All 3 set ups are interchangeable between all 3 models. I'd imagine the K30 comes in the 4 leaf set up, but the K10 and K20 could be either the 2 or 3 set up depending on heavy duty RPO code or not. C10 can be 52 inch or 56 inch springs. C20 is 56 inch springs. Smooth Ride, Heavy Duty etc. C30 is 56 inch springs. K10 is 52 inch springs. K20 can be 52 inch or 56 inch springs. Appears that 52 inch may be more common K30 is 56 inch springs. Also, the K10 and K20 use the same master cylinder and have the same frame specifictions, so by simply swapping axles, it is possbile to convert a K10 to a K Might aslo need to add a leaf to the spring packs.

Hopefully someone besides me can use the info. Thanks for all the help. It's everything. Less than 12 hours since you posted, I would expect an answer immediately. It is always more satisfying finding the answer yourself. Eventually someone will respond and this subject has come up before so you can always use the search function.

Thanks for posting what you found, good luck with your search. Carl C20 Scottsdale 7. I am not sure this is what you are asking, but the 2WD perches are not the same as 4x4 perches. The difference in a the std vs HD springs is the rear hanger location. Might try this thread for some more info. For Jocko's needs I think moving the engine is the best choice and least invasive. It is one he or anyone can do in his garage or carport without having to modify driveshafts, the trans.

The less you disturb the more liklely a positive outcome. Now on a clean build like a frame off or a full driveline swap moving or even changing the transfer case both have merrit. In fact there is alot to be said about simply using a R4 and a case. But again for Jocko, sliding the engine forward will help him have an easy and successful conversion.

Plus it is also completely reversable to a stock configuration. Not to mention the weight savings of 4" of cooler line! I think i sounded a little harsh without intending to. Ryan, I am glad you are debating this since I am too with my K I like the idea of putting the engine in the same position as a 2wd to mitigate distributor service. I think the concern over the weight distribution being further forward is probably not significant.

You are only talking about what, a 20lb additional load on the front axle? On the other hand, I do like the idea of a stock appearance with the deep fan shroud. My mechanics of materials book isn't handy and I'm feeling lazy so i haven't checked the math yet. All times are GMT The time now is PM. Contact Us - chevytrucks. K10 vs K20 - a few questions:. Re: K10 vs K20 - a few questions: ryan - perhaps a poor choice of words in ME saying best, since I haven't done either approach yet - so maybe I should re-word it to say the best approach FOR ME, because I have a better understanding of what is involved in that approach vs the t-case move, that's all.
