The parents agreed and then directed him to seek approval from Sawdah herself. They were married for three years before Prophet took another wife. Sawdah had the great honor of being an immigrant for the sake of Islam on two occasions, to Abyssinia and then to Medina. She was the first of a number of widows the Prophet married.
Sawdah had a reputation for being a kind, charitable and jovial woman. Her betrothal to him at a young age fortified that relationship. Aishah was raised as a Muslim while most of the close companions were converts to Islam. After marriage she and the Prophet became extremely close and many ahadith attest to this fact. She was his beloved wife and an extremely intelligent scholar of Islam. She is credited with narrating more than ahadith and became noted for her sharp intelligence, love of learning and impeccable judgment.
Aishah was widowed at the age of 18 or 19 years old and went on to teach and play a significant role in the dissemination of Islam for more than 40 years. Their marriage was an astute political alliance. Hafsah had been married at a young age and participated in the migrations to both Abyssinia and Medina. Hafsah was able to both read and write and, like Aishah, memorized the entire Quran. She was both pious and intelligent and would spend hours pondering over the verses of the Quran. It was Hafsah who had the great honor of being the custodian of the first Mushaf which came into her possession after the death of her father.

At the young age of 25, the Holy Prophet peace be upon him married His own employer who was a wealthy year-old merchant named Hazrat Khadija R.
His marriage to her was his first and it proved out to be both happy and monogamous, as He never married anyone during her lifetime. The couple had 2 sons together named Qasim and Abd-Allah who was nicknamed as Al Tahir and Al Tayyib , however, both the sons died at a young age. During their marriage, Khadija purchased a slave named Zayd Ibn Harithah, who was then adopted as her own son. Hazrat Maymoona bint Al-Harith R. It is over there that Hazrat Maymoona R. A proposed marriage to the Holy Prophet peace be upon him which he accepted.
Maymoona was also the sister in law of Hazrat Abbas may Allah be pleased who was a devout and longtime supporter of the Holy Prophet from the early days of Prophethood.
A, one of the wives of the Prophet Muhammad S. By this marriage, strong ties were created with the Banu Mukhzam tribe who were once his strong enemies. As the people of Makkah did not allow the Holy Prophet S. W to stay any longer, He left the city taking Hazrat Maymoona R. A with Him. A who had suffered a great deal since she had converted to Islam.
Prior to her conversion, she was married to one of her cousins. There is some disagreement about the fact whether Aisha R. A was married first of Sawda. A: Hazrat Aisha R. A was the daughter of Hazrat Abu Bakr R. A, one of the closest companions and supporters of the Holy Prophet S. Although she was initially betrothed to someone else, it was recommended to the Holy Prophet peace be upon him to marry Aisha R.
A after the death of Khadija R. A and hence the previous arrangement was dissolved by common consent. Both Hazrat Sawdah R. A and Hazrat Aisha R. A had been given apartments which adjoined to the Masjid al Nabawi. It is reported that Hazrat Aisha R. A grew extremely close to the Holy Prophet peace be upon him through her inquisitive and scholarly nature. Even after the death of the Holy Prophet S. W, she served the Muslim community for 44 years. Along with the wives mentioned above, there were also those wives of the Holy Prophet peace be upon him who had been widowed in battle and later married by Him to help and support their lives.
Hazrat Hafsa bint Umar R. A: During the war with Makkah many brave men laid down their lives fighting in the name of Islam, and in turn leaving behind many widows and children. One of these was Hazrat Hafsa bint Umar R. A, who was the daughter of Hazrat Umar may Allah be pleased who was one of the greatest and fiercest companions of the Holy Prophet peace be upon him.
Hazrat Zainab bint Khuzayma R. A: Hazrat Zainab bint Khuzayma R. This tribe was under the special responsibility of the Prophet and he married Zainab R. A with the aim of providing her with a better life. Over the years she was given the title of Umm Al Masakeen which translates to Mother of the Poor people. This title was given to her for the extensive amount of charity done by her out of kindness.
Both wives were closer to the age of Hazrat Aisha R. A and were welcomed with open arms by Hazrat Sawda R. A too. The relationship between Hazrat Aisha R. A and Hazrat Hafsa R.
